Possibly a newer Wii with D3-2 drive that will not run blank DVDs or an out of date DVDx install. Install latest version of DVDx through the homebrew channel. Ensure application has also been updated to look for the correct version of DVDx (This changed with version 1.0.5)

No workaround on this yet, try unplugging any chips or whatever Nintendo thinks is unauthorized from the wii. Seems like Korean wiis are the most likely to get this error.

3: Wii disk channel

unknown error at this moment.

102: Installing/Uninstalling WAD’s/Downgrading/Region Changing.

If it’s a WAD files ticket just reinstall the WAD and then uninstall using Wad manager. If it’s a missing ticket due to a downgrade or region change then you may have a bricked Wii. Try to reinstall all IOS’s from original sources.

Failed to connect to the internet or previous installation failed.

324: DVD Read Error.

Bad burn/media or no cIOS (like IOS 249). make sure the type of media you’re using is compatible with the Wii and/or your computer’s DVD Burner. Make sure you are using DVD-R discs, seeing as they are most compatible. Also try setting booktype to DVD-ROM. If using Win Vista/7 make sure burning with admin rights.

349: DVD Read Error

Bad burn/media or most likely incorrect IOS. make sure the type of media you’re using is compatible with the Wii and/or your computer’s DVD Burner. Make sure you are using DVD-R discs, seeing as they are most compatible. Also try setting booktype to DVD-ROM. If using Win Vista/7 make sure burning with admin rights.

579: DVD Read Error

Bad burn/media or out of date IOS. May not be compatible with certain versions of backup launchers (new revs should fix this). make sure the type of media you’re using is compatible with the Wii and/or your computer’s DVD Burner. This installer can NOT continue!

There is no known vulnerable IOS installed on this Wii.
Please note that we will not use a fakesighned IOS Due to security reasons.

1) Hackmii installation failure it is a bug installed by the Hackmii team, which prevents Hackmii running under a fakesigned ios36. You will most likely get this when you are trying to install hackmii with a modified ios36, trucha bug or any other way. Install a clean ios36 and retry.

Upside down HBC problem:

This will happen when the ios HBC runs on (press home button on HBC to see it) is trucha signed. Installing latest HBC may fix the problem or reinstall a clean version of that IOS.

DS Modchip, DS Lite Mod Card, Nintendo DSi Australia

dsi flash cards

Modding your DS / Modding DSi Save Card ? Its easy as!

Modding your DS is the easiest console to mod! The devices used to mod the DS are shaped like a Game, and work the same way....just plug in and play! There is no voiding of your warranty.

A DS on its own plays DS games, one at a time...pretty boring stuff!

A Modded DS and DSi Mod chip Card Device lets you:

Use Homebrew
Homebrew is any bit of software that someone writes for a console that doesn't go through the official channels for approval and distribution, i.e. anyone can do it! The most popular homebrew applications are:

  • DSOrganize - an organizer application which includes a PDA, file browser, web browser, IRC client, text editor, calculator and more!
  • MoonShell – allows you to play Mp3s, view images, text files and watch movies!
  • Messenger Apps – IRC, AIM, MSN – you can now use it on your DS!
  • VoIP – Use your DS as a phone!
  • Emulators – SNES, NES, ScummVM, NeoGeo, GameBoy etc.

The different types of Nintendo DS / DS Lite and DSi Mod Chips cards:

Every Nintendo DS flash card we stock has its pros and cons. Please read each page to see which one suits you.

All you need is one of our combos, i.e. A Slot 1 Device + a Micro SD card. Each combo has EVERYTHING you need for 1 DS (Or DS Lite) console -- there are no hidden extras you need to buy.

Ability to Play Homebrew - Homebrew for the DS and Nintendo DSi

High Capacity MicroSD support - The ability to use HC microSD cards. HC microSD cards start at 4GB and the technology can reach around 32GB we have been told. We offer 4GB and 8GB on our website. The more space the better hey? This is a hardware feature, so it is not possible to upgrade via firmware to support the cards.

Failure rate from latest batch - Pretty self explanatory . CycloDS evos had a horror run when they first came out with massive failure rate, which almost made us not stock the item. However their hardware issues have been solved now :)

Spring loaded MicoSD slot - The most popular cards in 2007 where the M3 Simply and R4DS. Both had these crappy spring that would break after a couple of months. The R4DS has a new shell, and the M3 Simply has been discontinued. The M3 Real and AceKard 2 have a spring but it is off a different style. The failure rate of these springs is close to nothing.

Download and Play support - If you want to play games against other people that don't have the game, you need this feature.

Built in Action Reply - Action Reply is the ability to load 'cheats' into the game. CycloDS evo, M3 real and AceKard 2, Itouch-DS have cheat databases built into the firmware, so its extremely easy to get them working. R4DS supports it, but you will need to load cheats in manually usually.

Free 'Rumble' expansion - Not a biggy, but the M3 Real comes with a free (free as in you cant get the pack without it, so don't ask!) Rumble pack. There are a couple of DS games that the rumble feature (DS shakes a little during play). The M3 Real also comes with a GBA expansion pack (if you buy the GBA expansion option). It allows you to play GBA ROMs, and the slot can also be patched to act as extra RAM to boot the DS's Opera browser. These 2 features (Rumble and GBA) are ONLY compatible with DS Lites.

Slow Motion - Flash cards that support this allow you to slow the game down to half the speed, a quarter etc. You can turn it on and off

Real Time Save (RTS) - Real Time save allows you to save the game state at any time - so you no longer need to wait until there is a save point in the game! You will then be able to resume the save game at that point any time you want.

In Game Menu - CycloDS has this really cool feature where you can press a button combination that will (mid game) pop up with a little menu. The menu allows you to enable/diable cheats, looks at a text file (incase you have downloaded a walkthrough for a game and you aren't near your PC), slow motion, etc.

Please be careful when reading reviews on the net about our products. Read an old review and it will say that R4 is the best, when as you can see, it is the most basic card.

            Q. Modchip -Wizard ,

We recently came back from our holidays around Asia and we bought Nintendo wii games - from Hong Kong . Bali . Singapore . Taiwan . Vietnam . Thailand . China . Bangkok . Puket . Malaysia and Somalia as they were only 8 cents each - we dont know if they will work on our Australian Nintendo Wii Console but the people in the Shop[s we bought the Wii Games from all said to see you guys about putting a Wii modchip or Wiikey or D2Pro - can this really work as we bought about 100 wii games for less than $80 australian - Your answer is appreciated

            A.

Hello Thanks Greatly questions!! The answer is yes - after we install a Wiikey . D2SUN . D2Pro . D2CKey or WiiDual your Australian Wii console can play Nintendo wii games from Hong Kong . Bali . Singapore . Taiwan . Vietnam . Thailand . China . Bangkok . Puket . Malaysia and Somalia and USA and JAPAN - and they will all work 100%

We receive many wii consoles world wide for modifications and orders for Modchips for wii and certain chips play these games from other countries extremely well and you can still play all your Australian Bought Wii Games.

      d2ckey wii

Wii and Gamecube games, on-the-fly region patching, audiostreaming fix and more.

D2CKey has been designed with user simplicity in mind. After installation (which, in all fairness, should be left to a professional!), it just works. There is no need to set up, reflash, upgrade, or fiddle around. D2Ckey automatically detects what kind of disc is inserted, and configures the drive accordingly. Original and backup original Wii and Gamecube games from different regions with the same video system boots directly, and even a lot of games from regions with different video system can be booted directly. Gamecube audiostreaming fix is built-in from the start.

350MHz Performance with advanced AES128 bit encryption, ultra-low-power core.

The overall system performance of D2Ckey is 350Mhz, compared to around 8MHz for serial-port based modchips.

D2Ckey uses the latest flash-based FPGA technology from Actel, which has many powerful features. It has a super-fast, ultra-low-power 1.5V core that will literally remain cool all the time. This means no strain on your Wii (and there is no need recalculate your carbon footprint).

Another powerful feature of D2CKey is that the programming is protected by powerful AES128 encryption, making reverse engineering attempts infeasible. Therefore it will be very difficult to find a way to detect or block the chip in any way in the future. In the past modchips and smartcards using less secure devices have eventually been hacked, making it possible to detect them and lock out modified systems. An example of this are self-updating d2mac and unofficial Conax satellite tv cards, whose MK's have been revoked, rendering the card inoperable.

Compatible with DVD+/-R and RW media (no bitsetting required) -multigame discs.

DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, Dual Layer DVD, bitsetting... finding the right recordable media and the right burner isnt always that easy. Some kinds and brands of media and recorders might work better with the Wii drive than others. D2Ckey offers support for most of them from the start, making it simpler for you. While a certain media, burner, or combination might not work properly with a certain drive, it will be easier to find a working combination knowing that d2ckey supports most of the common recordable media types.

Integrates a next-generation ICMS to ensure stability during loading and gameplay.

The first generations of Wii drive controllers - known as DMS, identical to D2A, and D2B all had a serial port interface that could be used to inject code, making it possible for backup discs to load (and enable other funky stuff as well).

Albeit easy to install, modchips that uses the serial port have some disadvantages. Due to the way they interact with the drive controller it is possible for the Wii hardware to detect them (they modify RAM, for example).

This way of modifying the Wii does not work with the D2C controller, because the serial port can no longer be used to inject or modify code.

D2Ckey uses a new approach we call the Intelligent Code Modifying System (ICMS). Instead of just uploading some code and then doze off, ICMS constantly monitors data on address and data buses, patching it if necessary. This has several advantages:

    • It is virtually undetectable by the Wii hardware
    • Improved reading of recordable recordable media
    • Backup disc loading will emulate original game disc loading closer

By interfacing more of the circuitry of the drive controller D2Ckey has a better understanding of what is going on inside. Stability and compability have been the main design objectives.

A good example of the dangers with oversimplified chips are the 4-wire PIC12C508-based PS1 modchips that where very popular around 1997. First, Microchip, the manufacturer of PIC chips, made some changes in the manufacturing process, affecting the in-system clock. This was technically not a manufacturing flaw, as the fault was still within the tolerance specified in the datasheet, but the chips stopped working. If the 5th wire, a clock signal from PS1, had not been stripped (the 5-wire modchips still using the PS1 clock did not have any problems) then there would not have been any problems. Shortly after games appeared that detected active modchips - once again, a few extra wires would have enabled the chip to know when (and when not to) send data.

    D2CKey Works Flawlessley on GC2-D1 and GC2-D1A - Confirmed! - 2008-01-16

Following rumors of issues with D2CKey on some of the newer chipsets, we are pleased to report that D2CKey has been tested with both the GC2-D1 and GC2-D1A chipsets and has been found to be working flawlessly. There has also been some confusion relating to different 'versions' of D2CKey. We would like to make it clear that there has only been one version of D2CKey since the official launch. Different batches of D2CKey may have different manufacturing codes printed on the PCB and the two LEDs may be different colors, but the functionality is identical. There is only one version of D2CKey in the market, and there are no plans to release a new version since D2CKey is working perfectly!

Compatible with every PS2 version (V1 -V16), no need to check your PS2 version

Mod Chip users rave about its better compatibility with DVD 9 games, the Modbo 4.0 runs dual layer much better then older models. Modbo 4.0 comes on a differently layed out pcb to earlier model Modbo chips for a slightly neater install.  It also have the ability to turn your PS2 into a totally DVD Region Free Player, as well as removes Macrovision protection from DVD Movies so that you can record your DVD movies to VHS tapes directly from your PS2 DVD Drive.  Excellent chip for end users as well as installers.  No more guessing which model PS2 you have, because this ps2 mod chip will just do it all.

The Modbo v4.0 is the latest chip from the guys at Modbo.com. The Modbo v4.0 is compatible with v5 to v16 and it is also compatible with the newly released SCPH-7700x & 7900x consoles. Its PCB layout is a perfect “L” shape which makes install a breeze. We believe this chip is a great solution for those looking for a compact and feature packed chip without the high price tag. We also want to explain to customers that there are two producers of the Modbo range of chips, first are the guys at Modbo.com who produced the Modbo 3.0 & Modbo 4.0. Second are the guys over at Modbo2.com who produced the Modbo v2.1 & Modbo 745.

A major difference we found between Modbo 4 and Modbo 745 is the Modbo 4.0 does work from v5 to v16 as advertised, but the Modbo 745 has trouble working in consoles under v9. Another bonus with the Modbo 4.0 is its now running the Matrix Infinity firmware v1.91 and is also possible to upgrade the firmware at a later date without any problems. If that wasn’t enough, they have now managed to get the firmware’s config menu and all its options to work and save. You can now go into the config menu and setup the Modbo 4 the way you want it, this is extremely handy for a lot of reasons. The Modbo 4.0 also uses a clock point, some of our customers have found that chips using a clock point “CX” are generally more stable then the same type of chip not using a clock point.

The Modbo 4.0 is a clone of the original Matrix Infinity range of PS2 mod chips. One of the major improvements Modbo 4 has over other Matrix clones is its better compatibility with DVD 9 and runs dual layer much better then older models. Modbo 4.0 comes on a differently laid out pcb to earlier model Modbo chips, allowing for a slightly neater install. There are a few clones of the Matrix Infinity floating around, Modbo , AppleEx , Matrix Infinity SE and some more. The good thing about these chips is you are getting most of the functions of the original Matrix Infinity at the fraction of the cost. The Modbo 4 also has auto media detection for direct booting and All Region DVD Support. The Modbo 4 also comes with a Diode fix for the PSTwo Slimline v12.

Please note that the Aus PAL consoles *need* the "H" point connected. This point is normaly only used on NTSC consoles, but our Aus PAL consoles require this point to function. As the PAL diagrams do not show "H" point, use the USA diagrams for v9 to v16 & the JAP diagrams on v5 & v7 for only the "H" point.

Argon 9 Wire Wii

The InFeCtuS Argon Wii is based on an 350 MHz Actel A3P-125 FPGA, which is programmable through a JTAG connector - in conjunction with either an InFeCtuS 2 device or an Injectus programmer. It has features similar to the D2CKey, and as of firmware v1.3 supports region-free play.

The InFeCtuS team have said a soon to be released firmware will lower the wire count from 16 to 10 for the D2C chipset as a result of the new competition from the Wasabi modchip. It will also introduce support for all the current Wii chipsets rather than just the D2C chipset (wire count for non-D2C chipsets will be 6). Also the update will grant the ability to upgrade the modchips firmware via DVD - despite InFeCtuS recommending the JTAG connector as the preferred upgrade method.
