Q. Please Help ! Mr Modchip-Wizard !

I recently move to Lithuania and then Germany from the United States and like any game I could not depart with out my Xbox 360 it. It has great sentimental Value to me. It does not Nag or Bitch at me like the wife does. ;-) The Problem is that here in Germany the Region Code is 2 and my Xbox 360 is Region 1. Is there a Mod Chip the I can By and install so I can Play Europeans Games. Please help I need to tune out the wife. Any help that you can provide will be appreciated

Some Xbox 360 can downgrade the firmware and change to a different Region - but then you will lose the Original Region Settings on the Xbox console- there is not yet a definite way to have all region present or unlocked at same time on Xbox 360.

I think I ordered some Saturn Mod chips off you guys like ages ago, anyway I have a pal Xbox 360 and I want to be able to play Japanese games, I have researched this heaps and it looks like you are the only one that can offer a true service with the bios swap on the nme chip, do you have anyone in melbourne that does it ?

I tried to call the mobile number as listed on the site for the Melbourne contact - its not the old sprint electronics place is it ? Any way if there is someone in Melbourne then I would like to take it to it or I could attempt to do it my self if you have a kit and clear instructions fine tip soldering iron at the ready !

region „free“ is not possible, but dual region (for example PAL & NTSC). You have to downgrade the xbox360 to modify the region.

You can do that only on NON-Hdmi xbox360 consoles with manufacturing date 07/2007 or earlier.

1. I am a Brisbane resident - can I drop my xbox360 console locally to have a mod chip installed? Otherwise, what is the process? Will the mod chip allow me to play back-up games from overseas? I beleive they are all NTSC... is this going to be a region problem?

I beleive I have a Toshiba-Samsung drive in my recently purchased console.

Could you also give me an approximate price including installation etc.

A. Yes Xbox 360 mod chips will allow the xbox 360 console to play Overseas NTSC and PAL backups - but depending on which chip is to be installed the games may have to be patched first.

NME v2.0 is between AU 139-199 installed - Depending how much epoxy is covering your chip board - and type of X360 DVD - Game needs an NME Patch before working
XKey360 is $129 installed ( a clone NME v2.0 ) -
Firmware Flash and some chips require the game to be in iXtreme format.

If you have an NTSC Game that will not play apply a simple PAL Region fix or PAL Patch to the 360 iso then burn to Verbatim DL +

Patching the game is a simple exercise. Information is outlined on the NME V2.0 link above.

Plse email an appointment time and day to drop off the console- depending on workload it may take 1-3 days unless organised prior. Interstate clients may send their Xbox 360 consoles in for mod chip installation and 360 consoles are returned Registered Mail.

2. Hello Im from Perth Western Australia , and my brother is from Adelaide in South Australia we each own an Xbox 360 - when we visited the local mod chip people here in our states they told us that you CAN NOT play NTSC games on a PAL Xbox 360 Console - is this true about Xbox 360 Mods??

A. Yes Xbox 360 mod chips CAN allow NTSC games to play on a PAL Console - YES even Original NTSC games can play on a PAL Xbox 360 Console - It is a process by where the Code on the Xbox 360 is substituted for different region code. This means while it plays original and backups of NTSC games it would not play originals and backups from PAL Australia - until the hex code is changed back.

This works the same for all Version Xbox 360 - NTSC-J Xbox 360 - NTSC-U/C - Xbox 360 PAL - all can be changed to different region !!

3. Does getting the 360 modded mean that the Microsoft seal is tampered with? Or can it be done without harming the warranty and keeping that valid? Also in case the 360 was modded and then I got the red rings would I have to send it to you to remove the mod chip and then ship to microsoft- or would you be able to fix the 360 for free due to the purchase of the mod chip?
* I probably will not chip the 360 if the warranty is invalidated due to the process

A. To Softmod or Chip the 360 entails opening the console and voiding the warranty seal- The Elite packs use the newer chipsets- they do NOT Red ring of Death- only some of the first batch of 360 have this possible problem. Xbox 360 mod chips when installed correctly do not affect the performance or life of the console and add more functionality.

4. Is it possible to get the NME chip? And how much does this cost? From my understanding by using the NME you are still able to get on XBox Live and play online as long as the game being played is the original copy- am I right?

A. NME V2.0 is one of the best xbox 360 chips available because it works in all model Xbox 360 Consoles - very flxible architecture. Other chips that are made for specific DVD Drives are less expensive with exactly the same features. Prices above.

5. What kind of mod chip would you recommend?

A. For Hitachi drives the NME V2.0 / XENO 360 / and 360Mini all work fine these are all XBlive compatible. For Samsung Drives- NME V2.0 / Xeno 360 / XKey360. For BenQ Phillips Drives - NME V2.0
