Q.1 Hello, i am a playstation 2 user and i was wondering exactly how does a playstation 2 mod chip work and what is it? I would be very interested in getting one installed and would recommend it to many friends as they are looking for a mod-chipper and hopefully i have found one, Thank you .?   A.1 Thanks for contact- and questions We are not a shop but professional installers of mod chips  for all video game consoles- The modchips allow more functionality without affecting the original performance of the consoles. Traditionally the modchips were installed just to play games from all countries - then broadened to play copied versions of games but now many useful applications can be installed as well such as media players - emulators etc. The work we provide is always warranted - If there is anything else needed to know plse email anytime. Q.2 Wow, that's awesome, so your saying if i go overseas and buy games, they will play with a mod-chip? wow!! :) cool, so what's this my friend is saying, can you actually like rent games from a video store and burn them onto disks and be able to play them on your actual ps2???  i will come in sometime in the next couple of weeks and get one installed:)my friends will be pleased as well:) thank you very much Harry :)   ps: what do you mean by emulators and media players, sorry i dont know:(   A.2 The answer is yes- you can get games from overseas as there is many more games released in Japan USA and Asia and sometimes Europe - after the mod chip is installed you can play games from all countries or regions. To copy games from the Video Store can be done yes but this may breach copyright law in some countries- in Australia you can legally copy your own bought games that you own as a back up copy of the game disc but copying a game that you did not purchase may breach copyright. Some clients also download games from torrent sites on the internet and when finished downloading they burn them onto DVD disc and play them if a modchip is installed in their console. This also may breach copyright if you did not own the original Game. Q. You have several mod chips on your site for PS2®’s.  I have a slimline PS2® only about 12 months old which you you recommend being to best mod chip?

A. Most Playstation® 2 chips will work perfectly in your Playstation 2 if you are only needing to play all countries games and copied games and use of the Playstation® 2 Media Centre then we recommend either Modbo 4, Apple 75K, BBB M7, Mars Pro, or Infinity.

 

 

Q. I have heard some mod chips can burn the laser is this right and can it be avoided?

A. If your model is large model or PS2® slim either SCPH75002 or SCPH77002 a or SCPH77002 b or SCPH79002 and SCPH90002 these models do not be concerned with laser burnout - they do not need laser fix- decent modchips have protective circuits built into the firmware of the mod itself. Only PSTwo® slim SCPH 70002 and PS2® Large model SCPH 50002 version 9 require additional hardware for laser fix. Although you are doing a favour to your consoles PSTwo® laser by keeping the unit unplugged when not in use and using only clean discs. Dirty and heavily scratched discs cause a shortening of the life of the PS2 laser.

 

 

Q. I have built a few electronic projects over the years .  I’m ok with a soldering iron.  How complex is putting these mod chips into the system?

A. Playstation® 2 consoles especially SCPH 70002 SCPH 75002 SCPH 77002 SCPH 79002 SCPH 90002 require fine point soldering and should not be attempted unless you are a capable fine point solderer.

 

 

Q. Do the chips come with everything I would need ?
