How to install an Xbox Softmod

You need an Action replay for xbox or xbox memory card to save the Softmod hack gamesave. You will also need an original copy of Splinter Cell Xbox Original version or Mech Assault 2. After transferring the save data file which you can get free off the net to your xbox you just boot the Xbox and execute the files from within the game Start up menu. That Simple. The softmod for xbox also known as Bert and Ernie or Xbox Game save exploit.

Xbox Softmod and Xbox Live

To Play Xbox Live with a Softmod is Fine - BUT - you must first register your Xbox Live account before installing the Xbox Softmod. ( With an Xbox modchip it does not matter you can play Xbox Live by disabling the mod chip ) . If you already have the Xbox Softmod installed you will need to uninstall it - register with Xbox Live then re-install the Softmod. If you want there are free gameservers available like XBConnect that will not require this.

Xbox Softmod Dual Booting / Dual Boot for Xbox Live

To Play Xbox Live with a Softmod is Fine - BUT - during installation first make an Eeprom backup- then an MS Backup and then install the softmod - Xbox soft mods can be installed 3 main ways - always use one of the Dual Boot modes - ei "Open Tray retail" - as this allows you to get to the Xbox Live menu without activating the Xbox Softmod Software- Perfect for Online Xbox Live. Some Xbox consoles -- if one of the Dual Boot Methods refuses installation just select the other to proceed with complete installation.

After installation you can then FTP or use a Boot disc to install your favourite applications - XBMC - DVD 2 XBOX - Etc
